Buzzed about even before its premiere, Arrow was deemed by many critics and bloggers to be one of the best new shots of the television season. Last week, the show debuted to record breaking numbers and it’s not hard to see why – if you weren’t sold on Stephen Amell’s portrayal of the popular comic book hero, you were sold on the smart premise and strong cast.
At New York Comic Con, we had a chance to sit down with Oliver Queen himself, and though he was a little tight lipped about what he could reveal, he did let us in on a few secrets.
“Oliver in the pilot is very brooding, and he comes back with one mission,” Amell explains. “What he didn’t consider when he was on the island was how is that going to affect the relationship with his sister and his mother. What we see in the next couple of episodes is him becoming a little bit unhinged and that’s fun for me.”
Watch the video below to hear more from Amell, including his feelings on the show’s success as well as well as how he prepared for such an iconic role.
