Although it hasn’t quite set in for the Nikita cast that this is their final season, star Shane West looks back on show’s history with excitement. “We had a strong feeling the pilot was going to be picked up,” he notes. “We had a strong feeling we were going to have a season two. After that, we had no idea. We essentially knew we were going to have a partial fourth, because we were so close to syndication, but we didn’t know if it was going to be 6 or 13 or 22. 13 would have been great because we would have more time to wrap things up. But just getting to have that opportunity…it’s nice to know we can go back and give the audience what they want.”
While West jokes that the final six hours “are ours to screw up,” when asked where we might find Michael when Nikita returns for its premiere, the star becomes a little more solemn.
“His emotional state is not good,” he shares, noting that the show picks up three months after Nikita has disappeared. “They do have a run-in in the first episode and another run-in in another episode, and I don’t think it’s going to be all roses right now. It’s very hard to say that we’re supposed to have this rosy ending.”
