A well oiled machine is only as good as the people running it – a statement that can refer to the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents themselves, who, while they aren’t Captain America or Iron Man, save the day with just as much danger at stake. Similarly, as executive producers of ABC’s highly anticipated new drama, Jeph Loeb and Jeffrey Bell understand the pressure behind making sure fans like what they see when they tune in.
“Every penny is on screen. ABC and Marvel have been generous with the budget, but we also think that our cast – once you get to know them in a couple episodes – you’ll be very happy to spend time with them,” said Bell when he sat down to talk with reporters at Comic Con. Added Loeb, “television has an intimacy that is very different from the movies…you want it to be this epic adventure of the human spirit. And with television, you want intimacy.”
