In Blindspot, star Jaimie Alexander shows up in the middle of New York City with dozens of tattoos and no memory as to how she’s gotten there. And, well, the situation wasn’t that different for Alexander as an actress, when she signed on for the new NBC series.
“For some reason, I always take jobs that don’t tell you anything until you get there, like Marvel,” she joked to reporters at San Diego Comic Con this summer. “But I know a good amount now,” she added, admitting that she would actually rather not know too much when it came to the character or the mysteries, for storytelling purposes.
Despite the show’s science-fiction-like roots, it’s Alexander’s belief that the show stands out because it’s relateable. “It sounds bananas for me to say that, but it is,” the actress said. “It’s a person who feels vulnerable, left out, completely outcast…and all she wants is for someone to say hey, it’s okay.”
